Innovative Firestopping and Waterproofing Systems

For over twenty-six years, the  ProSet System has provided penetrators that feature integrated firestopping. They are state-of-the-art sleeving systems that automatically fire-stop pipes passing through fire-rated floors and walls. The Need for Waterproofing

With the mandated use of sprinkler systems, fire containment has improved considerably. Now, prevention of water damage, due to legitimate or accidental sprinkler use, leakages, overflows or water appliance malfunctions has become the highest priority. Tenant separation, with the ability to confine fire, smoke and water to its original location, has always been important. The implications of mold development have made the prevention of water penetration between floors and walls even more important.

All ProSet penetrations except the least expensive provide integrated water resistance. However, if you are in a situation where the penetration must be waterproof, you can use the new ProSet Water Guard penetration.

The ProSet System: A Brief History

The ProSet System was founded in 1982 and, since that time, we have been creating and delivering innovative products and services to the plumbing, electrical and mechanical industries.

All ProSet products were developed by its founder, Ken Cornwall, who was a mechanical contractor for over twenty years. He knew there had to be a better way to connect pipes passing through concrete floors. Even though ProSet’s plumbing products are mostly known for firestopping pipe penetrations, the unique design and methods were originally intended to install piping systems faster and better. Firestopping was actually a byproduct of the original concept. ProSets fast and simple pipe installation method has made the firestopping automatic, affordable and easy for pipe mechanics to install.
